Rainbow Friends

Rainbow Friends here is a city action game built around a rope-using hero. Travel through an urban setting, use the character's rope and climbing abilities, and confront the gangsters standing in the way. This browser listing is a different kind of experience from the similarly named multiplayer horror game: the focus is movement and action in a city.

Plan a route through the streets and buildings

The rope movement is central to the character's identity. Before committing to a move, look at the direction you want to travel and the space around the next building or street. A useful destination gives you somewhere to continue from, not simply an impressive jump away from the position you understood.

Learn how the current movement responds before trying a complicated route. Test a short transition, observe where it leaves the character and use that result when choosing the next one. If you repeatedly lose your bearings, return attention to a recognisable building or junction and build the route from there.

Movement and combat have different jobs

The game includes enemies as well as traversal. Establish where an opponent is in relation to your route before concentrating on the encounter. A position with a clearer view is easier to assess than one where you are still unsure which way the character is facing. Reposition with a purpose when the scene becomes hard to read.

The supplied control scheme uses the mouse and arrow keys. Follow the action prompts shown in the running game for the relevant movement, rope or combat action. Do not substitute a keyboard layout from another superhero game simply because its character can also swing. First learn a movement you can reproduce, then add an action once you can observe its result clearly.

Choose the next action game by its mechanics

For a different approach to armed encounters, Crazy Strike Force offers a first-person shooter with its own weapon and movement controls. That comparison is useful if you enjoy the combat aspect but want a different viewpoint. It does not share Rainbow Friends' rope movement.
