Mahjong Connect Classic

Mahjong Connect Classic turns a board of illustrated tiles into a path-finding puzzle. Select two identical tiles and connect them with a clear line containing no more than two right-angle turns. A matching picture is only the beginning: the route between the pair must also be legal before the tiles can leave the board.

Read the spaces between the tiles

Click one tile with the mouse, then click its matching partner. Look for a straight connection first. If that is blocked, imagine a route with one corner, then a route with two corners. Other tiles obstruct the connection, so a pair that looks close together can still be unavailable. Removing a different pair may open the empty corridor you need.

This gives the game a different rhythm from simply spotting duplicate images. Scan both the symbols and the gaps. A tile on an exposed edge can have a useful route even when its partner sits farther away. Conversely, selecting the same blocked pair repeatedly will not help until the layout changes.

Choose removals that improve the board

Begin with obvious legal matches to create room. Then ask which available pair opens access to the most crowded area. Clearing a narrow passage can make several later connections possible. You do not need to calculate the entire board in advance, but noticing the effect of each removal helps you avoid treating every move as an isolated guess.

When several copies of one symbol remain, compare the possible pairings before choosing. The nearest two are not automatically the most useful combination. Trace the required turns carefully and watch what happens after the tiles disappear. Recheck the newly exposed area before moving your attention to a completely different corner.

A practical way to search

Work around the board in a consistent direction when you run out of immediate ideas. Search for one symbol at a time, locate its partners and test the open paths. This is easier to follow than jumping randomly between many unfinished matches. As the layouts change, return to the same two questions: do these pictures match, and can a line reach them with at most two turns?
